It’s been a while since I’ve been targeted by online scammers. But just recently, I got an email from an Army Colonel who claimed to have found some sort of valuable treasure in Iraq and needed my financial help to import it into the U.S. Totally legitimate, I’m sure!

I was actually surprised to get this type of email, because I hadn’t gotten one in years. I thought this type of scam had died out. But I guess I was wrong. It’s clearly still alive and well.

I didn’t respond to the Colonel’s request. But I did consider it – especially after watching James Veitch’s most recent TED Talk. He does an amazing job of getting rid of online scammers. Apparently, you just need to be more persistent and annoying than they are!
